Club News for January 2008
Happy New Years to all RBSF
First, I would like to thank all the members who participated in the
07 election of new officers. I would also like to thank Ken Meeks
for his campaign efforts and for his contributions to the club . I
want to thank John Montoya for updating the Web Site and hope he
will be able to join us at the field soon. Congratulations to Kevin
Condren and Mike Davies for continuing on another year. Much thanks
to Mike and Kevin for their continued support, dedication and hard
work. I know this time of year is especially difficult for every
one, with the holidays, shopping, vacations, parties, New Years,
etc. The new year is upon us and now is the time to start
planning for this new year. There are a lot of items that need to
be considered, but which of these items is the most important,
which ones need to be at the top of the list. I believe the general
consensus is the desire to fix the runway. We have had several
members step up and submit ideas and contact people who might be
able to contribute. If you have any ideas on how to accomplish this
project or any of our other projects, please submit your ideas to
the club.
The painting of our awning has been done solely by Steve Hulse, but
because of weather, his work hours, vacations, and holidays the
project is taking Steve much longer than he thought it would. Thanks
Steve. Good News though, we've had other members step up and
volunteer to complete this project. Both members are professional
painters. As soon as we get a couple of days of good weather, this
job will be completed and our new RBSF SIGN will be put into place.
So, I guess the point of my message is, now is the time to ask, "
What can I do for my club"? Once again, thank all of you for your
continued support, and friendship. Wish everyone a very happy and
prosperous New Year.

The camera is mounted on top of the fuselage, just forward of the tail.
We’re Back
Back again??... I bet you didn’t even know we were gone. Well, we were.
Gone, lost in cyber space, broken bits and bites. It was sad. But,
thanks to
Vice President Condren’s initiative and the Webmaster expertise the web
site works once again.
You guys still have not sent in any pictures....
I know they exist, I see the cameras at the field, so please email them
to John with a caption. (john@riobravosportflyers.com)
If you have printed pictures from the before time, pre digital, back
when
men were builders and airplanes came as a box of sticks, loan them to
me, I will scan them, email to John and return them, mostly unharmed.
